The Code-Switcher, LLC, seeks a passionate, meticulous, and result-driven book editor who has strong communication and writing skills with experience working in the book editing field. We are diligently searching for book editors who pay attention to detail, have keen grammar and language skills, and have the ability to work with others. We value book editors who have strong time management, communication, and organizational skills. 

Duties include revising and editing the manuscript of clients, establishing a timeline for the completed revisions, and ensuring three rounds of edits are done for each project to provide the highest quality of edits. Job Description

• Read, evaluate, and edit manuscripts or other materials submitted for publication and confer with the publisher regarding changes in content, style or organization, or publication.

• Detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax

• Revise and edit various client’s manuscripts for publication to improve readability

• Develop story or content ideas, considering the reader or audience appeal

• Maintains client document 

• Maintain project schedules and keep projects running on time

 Minimum Qualifications

• Two years plus of editing experience 

•  Major or significant coursework in English 

• Copyediting and proofreading experience

• Thorough understanding of English grammar and experience with editorial processes 

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in English, technical communication, or a related field  

• Project management skills, including experience juggling multiple projects at once, setting schedules, and prioritizing work

• Superb attention to detail

• Strong analytical skills

• Motivation to work independently

Additional Information

A position as Book Editor is contracted work with a flat price for the entire project. Each project will be negotiated to determine the cost of your services. The cost of each project will vary depending on what the client is looking to get edited. The company uses express pay to ensure that you get paid as quickly as possible.
